Review: Babybjörn Bouncer Bliss

If it ain't broke, just make it even more stylish. That's how the saying goes, right? I don't know many families who don't have at least one Babyjörn bouncer at home. First designed in 1961 by the Swedish family owned company, it's seriously stood the test of time, but this year, Lillemor Jakobson, BabyBjörn's creative director and co-founder felt a styling update was in order, and the bouncer bliss was born.  G is modelling ours, the mesh design in Cocoa here, the range also includes a quilted cotton option in four trend-led colours including a beautiful 'Old Rose' pink.
I had to make a dash around the house to find our bouncer before writing this post, it's so light and easy to move around that it's graced every room in the house (the garden too). If you have a tiny human you will know the only way to get anything done is with baby in tow. So, where did I find it? In the bathroom of course, left there after this morning's performance of 'The Shower'. G has been sitting in hers from around eight weeks old (it can be used until she's two), it's really comfortable for her, she feels secure, upright and there are no pressure points, she'll happily sit and watch me get on with chores, for a while at least. The seat softly bounces as she moves, but we have been known to bounce the chair with a foot while eating our dinner in the early days!

It folds almost entirely flat which means it's easy to tidy away, we scoot ours under the sofa once she's in bed. It has three easily adjusted positions and although it does require two hands to fold down, it can be opened up from folded flat easily with one arm, which is useful as there's usually a baby occupying the other. Securing her in the seat is incredibly easy and it's impossible for her to escape from, which is a relief if I need to leave the room. I sometimes use the fastening to hang toys from for extra entertainment when the sight of me ironing just isn't doing it for her, there is an option to add on a chic play bar, we've done without it up until now but she is looking for more entertainment as she gets older so I think I might have to add it to the wish list. The mesh cover can be washed, and is available to buy separately should you want to change the colour of your bouncer (the powder pink is calling me)!

The Babybjön Bouncer Bliss retails at £144.99 and is available here
